Darlins Love a Darlin': JasperLuver48 Edition

Hey y’all! For our last week of featuring Darlin’, JasperLuver48, I’m going to rec not one, but two of her one-shots! Yes, I’m bending the rules a little, but I couldn’t choose just one for today’s post!

The first story is Sixteen Again. Oh. My. Goodness. If you have not read this story, you seriously need to…and soon! Sixteen Again tells the story of Jasper as he returns to Forks for his annual visit with his best friend, Edward. He reminisces with him and tells him all about the past year of his life. He also reveals some secrets and feelings he’s kept buried.

I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s an absolutely beautiful story! I remember reading it for the first time last year and I was blown away! I will warn you, you WILL need a Kleenex or two, but don’t let that deter you from reading. JasperLuver48 describes a friendship between two people that is so pure, strong and palpable that you can’t help but get wrapped up in the characters’ emotions. You will feel every emotion Jasper experiences and, in my opinion, that shows the talent of a great writer!

The second story you all should check out is Point of View. The story starts off with Jasper pleading with Edward as he is about to board a plane. Edward can’t continue with their relationship because of Jasper’s fear and inability to fully come out to his family. Edward doesn’t want to be anyone’s dirty little secret and even though he still loves Jasper with all of his heart, he feels their relationship cannot continue hidden in the shadows.

Completely broken and heartsick, Jasper tries to come to terms with losing the love of his life. He takes great strides to make himself a better person, even going so far as coming out to his parents. However, without Edward by his side, the entire process, both cathartic and stressful, is bittersweet. A huge weight has been lifted from his shoulders, but at the same time, he doesn’t have his love there to support him. Edward won’t answer his texts or return phone calls and Jasper feels so alone and vulnerable.

JasperLuver48 weaves such a compelling story of loss, discovery, independence and redemption that you won’t be able to stop yourself from being drawn into the story and the characters’ lives. It’s one of my all-time favorites from JasperLuver48 and I hope you’ll give this story a chance!

Sixteen Again and Point of View are just two of the many wonderful one-shots JasperLuver48 has written. Her pairings vary, so I have no doubt you’ll be able to find one that suits your tastes perfectly.

It’s been an honor highlighting the work of my friend, JasperLuver48, this month and I hope I’ve been able to bring more attention to her exceptional writing skills and amazing stories!
