So this weekend, I met up with a few fellow writers/friends and we enjoyed some 100 Monkey's. My first stop was Chicago, IL, where luvmesomejasper was kind enough to let me crash with her for the night. Mrsalreyami, kikikinz and mommybrook were there, too. Man, did we have a great time. The show was in a fairly small venue, but it was pretty packed. Unfortunately we were standing pretty far back. The lighting was also absolutely dismal, so I have very few pictures. But it was great! We were standing near the exit door, and Jackson totally brushed my arm *swoon* and Jerad almost knocked me over! The set was great.
After a harrowing drive back, Saturday was spent recovering. Sunday morning, I drove up to STL (which is only about an hour from where I live) and spent the day with catielardin and mommybrook (who drove from Chicago to STL too, and knows the hell that is that drive.) Catielardin was kind enough to let me stay with her so I didn't have to drive back.
Sunday afternoon, the Monkeys did a signing/accoustic set at Vintage Vinyl. And what can I say about that besides GUH! They played three songs, and we were SO CLOSE!! And the signing...we got to meet the guys, chat a bit, and get an autograph. Jerad liked my hat, and I do believe mommybrook got called Darlin by Jackson (which, I admit, I'm impressed she survived because it would have killed me.) We spent the rest of the afternoon lounging about until it was time to go to the Old Rock House for the show. We met some great people outside and chatted while we waited. Once we got in, we were litterally right up front!! The set was so good, and the guys had so much energy it was crazy! I'm going to post a few of my favorite pics for now. I've got some great video (in one, Ben G actually points at my camera, so SWOON) but I have REALLY bad internet, and it takes too long to upload. So soon, my lovelies. God, the pictures put me right back into the show and man do I ever want to be back there. When he took that hat off, uh yeah, yummy. And I really don't know how I survived it. I think I went into shock or something, but didn't you see me melt once we stepped outside? Oh man, so awesome. Great post KC and can't wait to see you again, very soon!!!
