This week I’m very excited to share Sunkissed Skin and Dimpled Smile by NanaMun.

I could gush about this story for days, but before I do that, let me tell you a little about this wonderful story! Seth first sees Jasper reading while at work at a small indie bookstore. He’s immediately taken by Jasper’s good looks, but is soon embarrassed when Jasper catches him staring. Seth fumbles through the conversation while in awe of Jasper’s nonchalance and unwavering coolness. After talking to each other for four hours, it’s soon time for Seth’s shift to end. Not wanting their time together to end just yet, Jasper offers Seth a ride home. They exchange phone numbers with promises to hang out.

Although Seth is in high school and Jasper attends college at Arizona State, the two guys form a strong friendship and intense bond. Ever charming with this bright smile and adorable dimples, Jasper worms his way into Seth’s mother’s heart, effectively making him the only person of Seth’s friendship in his mother’s eyes. When the topic of Seth’s prom comes up, much to Seth’s chagrin, Jasper insists that he take advantage of the experience because it’s part of growing up. He even agrees to be Seth’s “date” knowing that he can make the event extra special for his best friend.

While at the prom, Seth and Jasper have a great time. However, the weight of imminent change and the possibility of drifting away from his best friend after graduation has Seth on edge and emotional. Sensing his discomfort, Jasper comforts him as only he knows how. When Jasper leaves to fetch a couple of drinks, shy and sweet Edward Cullen approaches Seth. Noticing the comfort with which Seth shares with Edward, Jasper feels as though he’s been punched in the gut. He believes it will only be a matter of time before Seth moves on and doesn’t need him anymore and that thought leaves him sullen, bitter and heartbroken.

Will Jasper finally fess up to his feelings for Seth?

Will Seth, thinking that Jasper could never be interested in him, move on with Edward?

Who exactly is Maria and what is her connection to Jasper?

To find out the answers to these questions, you’ll have to read the story. Sunkissed Skin and Dimpled Smile only consists of three chapters, but they are filled to the brim with everything that makes a story great: suspense, heartache, friendship, love and so much more.
