Sometimes Jasper would rather ride a boy than his faithful steed...
This week’s delightful Save a Horse, Ride a CowBOY story is After the Smoke Clears by bornonhalloween.
The story begins with readers meeting Jasper Whitlock, a rookie firefighter, being sent out on his first real job. Firefighting is in his blood and he takes his job very seriously. He’s studied and trained and now it’s time to really put everything to practice.
Edward Cullen, famous Hollywood actor and heartthrob suddenly finds himself trapped in a burning building after excusing himself to the restroom and another drab event. He immediately panics and hopes that someone, anyone, will find him.
Knowing that the Edward Cullen, and his celebrity crush for the past five years, is trapped in the building spurs Jasper to find him and get him to safety. After some close calls and the use of a cell phone, Jasper manages to find Edward and save him, risking his own life in the process.
After the rescue, Jasper becomes a hero in the eyes of his fellow firefighters, the city of San Francisco, and most importantly Edward. Wanting to properly thank him, Edward contacts him and asks if he can pay a visit while he recuperates in the hospital. The two men eventually forge a strong friendship that’s a joy to watch. Jasper, who’s always been forthcoming about his sexuality, makes it known that he’s been crushing on Edward pretty hard for a long time. Edward, on the other hand, is surprised when he begins to feel things he never expected toward the humble, honest and sweet firefighter. You’ll have to read the story to find out what happens. *wink*
I loved this story because everyone can relate to it. We’ve all had crushes on celebrities, so it’s nice to see a normal, sweet guy not only meet his crush, but become friends (and possibly more) with him. You will fall in love with Jasper because all of his actions are so kind and unselfish. I know I would feel mighty lucky and grateful to be on the receiving end of his affections!
Check out this cute story that is sure to bring a smile to your face!
