This week’s story is the incredibly sweet and heartwarming, When Can I See You Again? by sadtomato.After establishing an online friendship, Jasper and Carlisle decide to meet face-to-face at a bar. While nursing a beer, Carlisle waits patiently. Little does he know that Jasper watches him for a moment or two, sizing him up and liking what he sees. Their first encounter is awkward and somewhat tense; Carlisle, in his 40s and fresh out of the closet, seems a little gun shy and ready to bolt at any moment. He eventually admits to Jasper that he’s still feeling somewhat out of sorts when it comes to his sexuality and dating men. It was with the encouragement of his son, Edward, that Carlisle takes those tentative steps into the dating pool. Jasper immediately finds Carlisle’s nerves and entire demeanor endearing.
The two men hit it off instantly, and slowly but surely establish a strong relationship. Jasper is very patient with Carlisle and never pushes him to do anything he's uncomfortable with. Each new experience increases Carlisle’s confidence and boldness.
I really enjoyed this story because it’s so rare to see Carlisle as anything but stoic, self assured and composed. In this story, Carlisle is very cautious, nervous and heedful of just about everything concerning his blossoming relationship. It was lovely to watch him come out of his shell and experience new things with Jasper. The characters were written so well that you’ll find yourself wanting to hug the guys because they are both so sweet and cute.
If you’re looking for a fluffy story that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside, When Can I See You Again? is the story for you! Awarded first place in the Dirty Talking Jasper 2.0 Contest, you know that along with the fluff, there is a fair amount of hot, lemony goodness as well. ;) Definitely check this out!
