Sometimes Jasper would rather ride a boy than his faithful steed...
Brave New World by itsjustme1217 is this week’s Save a Horse, Ride a CowBOY pick!
This lovely one shot chronicles the relationship between Jasper and Edward as Jasper recounts some of their most important relationship experiences so far. Everything from their first meeting, first date, first encounter with bigots, first time making love, etc. is laid out in detail for all of us to enjoy. Jasper is reminiscing about all of his firsts with the love of his life because he is writing an article about gay relationships from the perspective of a happily married gay man. At first, he didn’t want to do it, but with some persuading from Edward, he agreed.
I would highly recommend reading this story. Even though it’s kind of short, itsjustme1217 effectively portrays years’ worth of memories and events into approximately 4,000 words. You will feel as though you’ve walked each step of the way with Edward and Jasper; reveling in their happiest moments and hurting with them in their saddest and most frustrating. The realism of their relationship is refreshing and shows that with all of the obstacles facing gay couples in this day and age, which is a shame if you ask me, Jasper and Edward have still managed to build and nurture a wonderful relationship that would put a lot straight relationships to shame.
Brave New World also placed third in this year’s Born This Way Contest Voter’s Choice category.
