Save a Horse, Ride a CowBOY: Amid the Lucid Stream by ArcadianMaggie

Sometimes Jasper would rather ride a boy than his faithful steed...

This week I am honored to rec Amid the Lucid Stream by ArcadianMaggie.

*sigh* I cannot say enough about this beautiful tale of love and loss. In the beginning of the story, Edward is alone and sitting on the edge of a cliff lost in his thoughts and memories. He often finds himself here because it’s so hard to go home and face the anguish that has overtaken his once happy household. The cliff and the clear night sky is his solace in a world of sadness. His marriage to Bella is chilly at best, but he stays because of their daughter, Renesmee, the only bright light in an existence that has turned dark with despair.

Returning to the cliff’s edge, Edward stares into the sky, gazing at constellations, and is visited by his true love, Jasper. They share a pure and uninhibited love that is so powerful it surprises them both. Edward tries desperately to hold on to Jasper; his warmth and devotion, but his heart always breaks when he realizes he truly is alone once again.

I don’t want to give away too much of this story because I want you to read it and really absorb the beauty of this piece. I will warn you, though. You will probably need a Kleenex or two by the end. ArcadianMaggie manages to pack such a powerful punch of emotion into this relatively short one shot that you will be mesmerized. There is one scene involving Edward, Jasper and Renesmee that absolutely melted my heart. *swoon* It was gorgeous! I highly recommend reading this story and have no doubt it will be added to your favorites!
