Save a Horse, Ride a CowBOY: Masterpiece by iamamy

Sometimes Jasper would rather ride a boy than his faithful steed...

This week’s story is Masterpiece by iamamy.

Jasper, wounded from a break up and going through life with seemingly no real purpose, light or fire, attends an art exhibit as a favor to his friend, Alice. He is immediately drawn to the pieces and senses that what he’s been searching for is located right there in the gallery. While he doesn’t completely understand the art, something about it captures his very being.

Not only does the art catch Jasper’s eye, but a beautiful man also captures his attention. Instantly, the two men lock eyes and experience an almost immediate connection. Their moment is broken, however, when the beautiful man’s attention is briefly pulled elsewhere. Soon after, the alluring man, Edward, introduces himself. Again, their chemistry explodes as it is revealed that Edward is the artist. They strike up a conversation about Jasper’s desire to bring some life into his apartment with art, which is true, but he’s also in need of a little fire in his own life and Edward just may be the person to do it.

A few days later, Jasper and Edward meet again in Edward’s apartment/studio. They can no longer deny their want and need for each other and what follows are some of the most passionate, heat-filled, heart-pounding paragraphs I’ve read in fanfiction. *fans self*

Masterpiece is a beautiful story about finding exactly what you need in the most unexpected of places. Even though Masterpiece is a one shot, iamamy develops the characters flawlessly, portraying the intensity between the two men and how they are able to create a masterpiece, both artistically and personally in their growing relationship.

Check out this story. It’s gorgeous!
