Hey all! I'm one of the new Darlin's In Training and I have the happy job of doing the Meet The Darlin's segment. Now, at first I was kind of bummed because I got beat out on my original first 3 choices (I blame being short. I always get the short stick because I AM short.), but then I started realizing how much fun I can have with this segment because it's MY job to poke and prod and probe (heehee... I really just wanted to say probe) the other Darlin's brains and get them to admit to stuff they wouldn't normally cop to.

So, as it stands, I'll be posting a "Featured Darlin' of the Week" each week until we've all been spotlighted... and then the REAL fun begins! Word Associations, Picture Associations, Lists, games of all kinds so that you, our wonderful readers, can get to know the REAL Jasper's Darlin's! ONWARD! *marches off*

Our Featured Darlin’ this week is our “Lead Darlin’”, NCChris! She’s known in the Fandom for such stories as “Beyond Angry”, "The Hotel", “The Flophouse”, “Worth the Pain”, and several other non-canon fics. She’s a Stay-At-Home Mom with 3 kids, who’s working on a Master’s. She’s writing several collaborations with SparklingFae, and generally kicking ass in the Fandom. Read on to see how she answered some questions from li’l ole me!

2. How long have you been reading/writing FanFiction? A little over two years.
3. What’s your favorite pairing? Jasper/Bella
4. What’s your favorite genre? Angst/Comfort
5. If you were to collaborate with an author, who would you choose to collaborate with? Oh, that’s a hard question…I admire so many authors in the fandom. Short list? SweetT129, HammerHips, TrampVamp, BamaBabe. I’d also like to write again with TillyWhitlock.
6. Name some stories you think everyone in the fandom should be required to read (don’t forget to list the authors with their stories). “Colliding Meteors” by Idreamofeddy (it’s finally reposting on FFn), “When Darkness Turns to Light” by Janna Banana, “The Fate, Love, Hope Series” by Cullen818, “Underneath Your Scars” by HammerHips, “Long Tall Texan” by BamaBabe…I have a long list! *laughs*
7. What do you look for when reading a story (i.e. writing style, no mistakes, etc.)? I can’t handle the misuse of words. (ie: quite vs. quiet, waste vs. waist, defiantly vs. definitely) I’m pretty equal opportunity otherwise.
8. What turns you off of a story? A plot that is too complex. I want the story to be as plausible as possible given that it’s about vampires. *laughs*
9. What’s your favorite version of Jasper (i.e. Geeksper? Domsper? Darksper?)? I’m a big Sweetsper fan, but I really like any version of him as long as it’s well done. That’s one of the things I liked the best about our last contest, Many Faces of Jasper.
10. Is there any type of story that you will absolutely NOT read, regardless of how well it may be written? I don’t read incest of any sort and I read very little canon Edward/Bella.
11. Who is your favorite FanFiction author? I absolutely cannot answer this with just one person. I really admire HammerHips’ writing; it’s very different from mine. I like Idreamofeddy for the same reason. I read a fair bit of wolfpack fics, too, so for me LJ Summers is the definitive wolfpack writer.
12. What is your favorite FanFiction story? Again, such a hard question! I’m going to go with Cullen818’s “Fate, Love, & Hope trilogy”, though. For me, it is the new canon in a lot of ways.
13. Are you good at leaving reviews, or do you tend to simply “lurk”? I used to be very good at leaving reviews. I’m so busy now though that I often am a lurker. *hangs my head*
14. What do you do when you get Writer’s Block? I do a lot of RP on Twitter. I often RP storylines before I write them.
15. What is the atmosphere like when you’re writing (i.e. quiet, loud, cigarette)? It’s never quiet in my house, so I tend to just throw on headphones and crank up the iTunes on shuffle.
16. What’s your favorite thing about writing FanFiction? I love the feeling of accomplishment when I actually finish a story.
17. Least favorite? The pressure to write on schedule. I am terrible for going long times in between updates.
18. Slash or no slash? I am a slash H00R. I adore Jasper/Edward and Jasper/Peter. I also love polyamory. Peter/Jasper/Charlotte and Peter/Bella/Jasper being my favorites. I am just starting to get into Femmeslash. It’s harder to find good femmeslash stories.
19. What scene involving Jasper would you have liked to have read, rather than it having been glossed over in the books (i.e. Jasper’s history with Maria, Peter, and Char; Jasper wandering; Jasper’s reaction to Edward becoming infatuated with Bella—shown in MS, but not in Twilight)? I really wanted more of his history. I’d have liked to have seen more of him with Peter and Charlotte. (in my head there’s an entire romantic relationship that happened there. *laughs*)
20. Which is your favorite book in the Saga? Eclipse
21. If Jasper were a real person in your life, what would you do? Have incredible conversations about the history he’s seen. I think he would have such interesting perspective on the world.
22. Is Jackson Rathbone your Jasper, or do you have another actor you’d rather play him? Yes, he is definitely my Jasper.



23. Is there a character (besides Jasper) that you absolutely love? I am a huge fan of Leah. I think she got a raw deal in the books. She has such potential!
24. Is there a character that you absolutely hate? Renesmee – sorry. I think she was just an awful idea. Poor Jacob.
25. Are you annoyed by my questions yet (keep in mind you have a lot more to answer each week)? Nope, they’re good questions and I can’t wait to read everyone’s answers!
